This year, the Christmas tree that will adorn the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol is coming from the Grand Mesa Uncompahgre National Forest that surrounds Telluride. The 55-foot-tall Engelmann Spruce is being trucked around to small towns on the Western Slope for a viewing before it heads to Washington DC. (You can actually track its progress at capitoltreeetracker.com.)
