Kick Your Heels Up.

This is a blockbuster weekend for the arts here in Telluride: the 23rd Annual Ah Haa Art Auction, Telluride Arts’ Art + Architecture event, and the opening of Telluride Theatre’s Shakespeare in the Park. Get inspired, make a bid, and be entertained at the three most exciting arts events this summer.

23rd Annual Ah Haa Art Auction, July 17

Going once, going twice…SOLD! This is the signature event for the Ah Haa School For the Arts, and it is always a IMG_9872zany, entertaining way to spend a summer evening—it’s not to be missed. This year’s theme is “The Wizard of ‘Ah’z,” and the celebrity artist is Jewel, who will be performing as well as selling some of her artwork. Just click your red heels together, make a wish, and you’ll be there. Auction items come in every color, from visual pieces to vacation getaways, cruisers, adventure packages, and the popular “art car,” a vibrantly painted and restored vehicle that some lucky bidder gets to take home. New this year to the auction is special reserved seating (an up-close spot to watch Jewel perform) for $100, but space is limited. Visit Ah Haa for more information or to take a peek at some of the auction items.

2015 Telluride Art + Architecture Weekend, July 18-19

Ever wish you could get an insider’s view of some of the beautiful homes, restaurants, historic buildings, or studios in town? Now you can. Art + Architecture is a unique celebration of all the art forms in town; attendees get a special tour hosted by architects, chefs, artists, and designers. The event is a very intimate way to experience the arts scene in Telluride, with exhibits, artist and chef demonstrations, live music, performances, tours with architects and designers, food, beer and wine tastings, and surprises at each stop on the way. Visit Telluride Arts to purchase a pass or learn more about the event.

25th Annual Shakespeare in the Park, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”
July 18—21, & 23—25 at 8 p.m., Sunday July 19 matinee at 2 p.m.

You have not experienced Shakespeare until you’ve watched it outdoors on Telluride Town Park stage, seated in a telluride arts theatreclose semi-circle around the actors, surrounded by the amphitheatre of mountains and a canopy of stars. This year Telluride Theatre is performing “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” a dramatic journey through the forest filled with fairies, monsters, royalty, a traveling theatre company, and much more. This year is the 25th anniversary of Shakespeare in the Park. Visit Telluride Theatre for tickets and information.
