If you’re missing the pulled pork shoulder, the fried okra or the bourbon that used to be the standard fare at Fat Alley, don’t despair. The barbeque joint, a favorite of locals, is reopening a couple of blocks away at the old X Café location. The grand opening is Friday (June 3) and owner Robbie O’Dell is renaming the establishment “Oak” after its location at the south end of Oak Street, right at the bottom of Chair 8. Now you won’t have to schlep your skis up the two blocks to grab a PBR and some great southern food—the new spot is right at the base of the ski resort and the gondola. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
